What is this litigation about?

A:

In the WCG subclass litigation, plaintiffs assert that certain defendants, during the period between July 24, 2000 and April 22, 2002, the “Class Period”, made false and/or misleading statements regarding, among other subjects, Williams Communications Group’s reported financial condition and prospects for future success.  Defendants vigorously deny all of the allegations, and deny any liability whatsoever.

Top Q: Should I get my own lawyer?
spacer

A:

You do not have to hire your own lawyer because class counsel is working on your behalf. If you want your own lawyer, you can hire one. If you want to file your own case, you must ask to be excluded from the class action. Once you exclude yourself from the class action, class counsel will not represent you and you will not bound by, nor entitled to the benefits of, any order, verdict or settlement in the class action.
